the journey to imperfection

I think I've been searching for something wrong.

I should have focused more on being imperfect—on loving my imperfections—rather than trying to achieve perfection.

Now, I hope I'm on the right path.

And I hope you are too!

Because, would you buy a pack of perfect squares? No. But you would buy a pack of imperfect squares aka puzzle pieces.

Puzzle pieces would never fit together and become something beautiful if they are smooth-edged—if they are perfect squares.

I like to think that a heart must be in half to be clicked with another heart and become whole—fix each other.

A soul must have a crack so it can find somebody to close the crack. I'm not saying it is important to be brokenhearted in life.

I'm just trying to say that love can only be proven if you love someone's defects; not because you love their beauty.

After all, customized and personalized gifts are always more expensive.

So now, why achieve perfection? Perfection is boring. Flaws are what make us human—real, alive, unique, different from others.

Instead of focusing on our cracks, let's just focus more on polishing our whole parts, shall we?

“Living and growing,” Mrs. Wheatley said with finality. “Living your life.”
